COMPANY:
Febeliec (“Federation of Belgian Industrial Energy Consumers”) represents the industrial energy consumers in Belgium in issues about energy and climate politics on Belgian and European level. Febeliec has as members 5 business associations and 42 companies. Together they represent over 80% of industrial electricity and natural gas consumption in Belgium and some 230.000 industrial jobs. Given its widescale expertise, Febeliec plays a key role in debates on energy issues. Striving for competitive prices of electricity and natural gas and for security of supply of energy remain essential core tasks. JOB DESCRIPTION:
Febeliec represents privileged source of information and counsel to its members on all issues regarding international, European, federal or regional energy policy. Due to the increasing number of themes that are followed up, it is urgent to reinforce the team with an energy expert.
In a first instance, the expert will be co-responsible for:
- analysing the relevant aspects of energy and climate policy at European, federal and regional level, and assessing their impact on industry;
- elaborating positions of industrial consumers on energy and climate policy;
- elaborating and documenting proposals from industry in order to improve energy and climate policy at different political levels. These proposals can deal with economic, technical and legal aspects of energy policy.
Later on, the expert will also have to represent Febeliec and industrial energy consumers in specific matters at external meetings and events.
PROFILE:
- master in economics, law, science or engineering, or equivalent experience;
- passion for energy, climate and industry, with a particular interest for economic, technical land legal aspects of the impact of energy and climate policy on industrial consumers;
- a few years of relevant experience in the area is a must;
- trilingual French / Dutch / English;
- good analytical insight, sense of synthesis and a good pen;
- team spirit, consensus-minded and flexible;
- to reinforce a small, dynamic organisation;
- assertive, diplomatic and communication and social minded.
